Because Taiwan: The Church of The Glass Slipper

For centuries, Japan has religiously worshiped the steel phallus. And then, partly as a result of all of that hard work, in 2006 Kurara Chibana won the Miss Universe title in her famous Ninja High Heels.

So, not to be outdone by any of that, and in an effort to attract more female members to its congregation, we now have Taiwan's new wtf spectacular development of the church of the glass slipper now completed and about to open next month:

It is tempting to make fun of this, but since it is an actual church of some kind or another I will tread lightly as blasphemy will mean the eternal damnation of my sole. ;)

Taipei Zoo Pandas Yuan Yuan and Yuanzai Part 2

Earlier this year in August, the Taipei Zoo released the cutest Giant Panda videos ever seen in the history of the internets. These starred momma Yuan Yuan and her then one-month-old cub Yuanzai. These highly emotional short clips went mega viral and were broadcast on many international television news stations and are still quite popular all over the world wide web.

Well, just the other day the Taipei Zoo did it again and has now brought us a very cute behind-the-scenes look at baby Yuanzai as she gets lost after an examination and, literally, stumbles into momma's bamboo grazing grounds:

Mother & Baby Panda Rejoined @ Taipei Zoo

Just over a month ago, first-time mother panda Yuanyuan gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Yuanzai at the Taipei Zoo. However, Yuanyuan accidentally broke Yuanzai's foot while carrying her. There was some concern that the mother might kill or eat the baby so they had to temporarily separate the two. The zoo's nurses and veterinarians took very good care of the baby panda and on August 12th, mother and baby met for a brief, but very emotional moment.

Then earlier today (Aug 13th) both mother and baby were reunited and Yuanyuan breastfed Yuanzai with no problems. Below is an incredible video of the two coming together again:

How Can Japanese Sumo Survive?

For the past 10 years or so, professional Japanese Sumo wrestling has seen a steady decline in popularity as it has suffered from fixed matches, links to organized crime, bar room brawls in Roppongi, a marijuana scandal and illegal gambling on baseball etc. The failure to produce a Japanese superstar wrestler has also driven away many long-term fans as well.

So how can Japanese Sumo survive? Well, Taiwan's Next Media Animation TV has some funny ideas:

Taiwan's Kaohsiung Stadium 100% Solar Powered

Here are some cool photos of Taiwan's 100% solar-powered coliseum Kaohsiung National Stadium. Opened in 2009 and with a capacity of 55,000, this super solar bowl was host to the 2009 World Games. It has some 8,844 solar panels that power 3,300 lights to illuminate the track and field. Apparently it only takes six minutes for the entire lighting system to activate. Taiwan's First Buddhist Same-Sex Marriage

TAOYUAN--Long-term lesbian couple Huang Mei-yu and You Ya-ting were married in Taiwan's first same-sex Buddhist wedding ceremony on August 11, 2012 in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan. Some 300 Buddhists chanted Sutras to bless the couple who are both 30 years old. The couple wore traditional white wedding gowns and exchanged prayer beads instead of rings in a Buddhist monastery. The couple's parents initially agreed to attend the ceremony, but because of the international media exposure they were absent. The couples' marriage is not legally recognized, but Taiwan is one of the most liberal cultures in Asia and many gay and lesbian rights groups are petitioning the government to legalize same-sex marriage. Taken in February of this year by flickr photographer bbe022001 here is a breathtakingly beautiful photo of Dahu Park in Taipei, Tawain. This park was established in 1979 and can be accessed by the Taipei Metro (Taipei Mass Rapid Transit) on the Wenhu Line to the MRT Dahu Park Station. This multifunctional park serves as a comfortable leisure stop in the Neihu District of Taipei City. The park is approximately 134,135 square meters and features Chinese style bridges and a pavilion, Bailushihu (Egret Lake), Mt. Bailushi (Mt. Egret), a fishing area, hiking/walking trails, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. This park is very popular for wedding photos.

NMA TV 3D News on John Travolta Lawsuit

And on the very next day a second anonymous masseuse came forward with similar allegations of sexual battery and harassment against Mr. Saturday Night Fever. NMA TV on NBA's World Peace Violence

Recently Metta World Peace aka. "Ron Artest" of the LA Lakers reverted back to his violent ways and now is in trouble once again with the NBA. His latest eruption happened in Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. World Peace started celebrating a slam dunk by pounding his chest and then suddenly he viciously elbowed James Harden's head and knocked him to the floorboards. This earned Artest a flagrant foul and a game ejection but, of course, he claimed it was unintentional:

"It was unfortunate that James had to get hit with an unintentional elbow," World Peace said. "I hope he's OK."

However the NBA thinks otherwise and is now deciding on the length of Artest's upcoming suspension. This event is quite controversial with some fans claiming it was an accident and others saying that Artest should be banned from the NBA altogether. Either way this foul/accident is very disappointing for the NBA as this current season has seen an increase in violence on the court overall.

Texas Ranger's new 60 million dollar man, Yu Darvish, has been reported to be dating a Japanese porn star with a G-cup sized bustline and an "electric tongue." It is suspected that this could be the one and only Kirara Asuka (NSFW). If this report is true it should not bother Darvish at all as he himself has posed nude in some Japanese women's magazines. Taiwan's Take on Tim Tebow

Most likely if you follow sports, you have already heard about Tim Tebow and his remarkable overtime winning touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas to lead the Denver Broncos over the Pittsburg Steelers 29-23 on Sunday. And unless you live in North Korea, you also heard about the strange connections to The Bible verse John 3:16 in that game:
